Rules

Teams

• Teams should be between 3-6 members. You can invite colleagues or friends to be part of your team or you can reach out to any of the registrants on the Hackerearth platform. We invite you to form a diverse team that will contain all roles needed for a winning submission.

• This is an onsite hackathon. Upon request, the organizers reserve the right to approve remote participation in the hackathon.

• The Hackathon is limited to 60 participants. In the event of over registration, the organizers reserve the right to decline some of the registrants. Organizers discretion will be based on the following criteria – use of formal hackathon tech provider's tools, team gender diversification, proven/demonstrated knowledge and previous experience, area of expertise, background, ability to promote organizers agenda, time of registration etc.

Building your solution

• Your solution should be finalized within the time of the onsite hackathon.

• You are invited to use any one of the formal tech provider’s technology and get online support before and during the hackathon. If you choose to use other technology (Ethereum stack and other open source tools) such support will not be available, including support provided by the formal tech provider used by winning team.

• You own the intellectual property you create during the Hackathon. We will showcase the winning solution but we won't publish your code. You are of course welcome to release your code e.g. via GitHub.

• You must choose a theme that is in one of the formal Hackathon themes.

• You are expected to come up with new and innovative ideas, any idea or submission that has been copied from somewhere will be disqualified.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Blockchain Finance Israel Hackathon (“the Hackathon”) is a joint initiative of Israeli Securities Authority (ISA), Start up Nation Central (SNC) and Start up Nation Central Policy Institute (SNPI) and The Office of the Accountant General at the Ministry of Finance (AG).

Please note that the event is conducted and managed by a hackathon management platform provided by HackerEarth Inc. (“HackerEarth Platform”). For more information about the HackerEarth Platform (including HackerEarth’s privacy policy) please visit https://www.hackerearth.com/community-hackathons/ By continuing the registration you indicate your agreement to be bound by the Hackathon Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).

If applicable, these Terms and Conditions shall be understood in conjunction with the HackerEarth Website Terms of Use [ https://www.hackerearth.com/terms-of-service/ ], which regulate your use of the HackerEarth Platform. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Conditions and the HackerEarth Website Terms of Use, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, you will not be able to participate in the Hackathon. If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, please contact DigitalMarkets@isa.gov.il

Hackathon teams solutions will be reviewed by an expert panel of judges (“the Panel”). The decisions of the Panel regarding the winning teams are final and may not be appealed.

Participant agrees and acknowledges that there is no commitment or expectation that the prototype will actually be deployed, in any way.

Your solution

Your solution will be presented to the Panel at the end of the Hackathon.

The presentation will be 3 minutes long. You represent and warrant that you have all the necessary authorizations, permissions, licenses and agreements to participate in the Hackathon and to all material used, and that your participation in the Hackathon, and your submission of Solution(s) are in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.

You will retain the title, rights of ownership, or intellectual property rights of whatever nature in the Solutions and any related information that you submit or develop. You understand and agree that you will not be reimbursed for any costs associated with your participation in the Hackathon.

Covid-19 related restrictions

The Hackathon will be held under covid-19 restrictions and the green pass. ISA, SNC, SNPI and AG are permitted to apply other demands to physical participation in the Hackathon.

Amendment, suspension and termination

The ISA, SNC, SNPI and AG may at any time vary or amend these Terms and Conditions by posting the amended Terms and Conditions on the Hackathon website. If you continue as a participant in the Hackathon after such amended Terms and Conditions have been posted, you will be deemed to have accepted the amended Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to the amended Terms and Conditions, you have the right to withdraw from the Hackathon. ISA, SNC, SNPI and AG may discontinue the Hackathon at any time and for whatsoever reason. You agree that ISA, SNC, SNPI and AG have the right at their sole and absolute discretion and without notice or liability to restrict, suspend, or terminate your participation in the Hackathon. You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who act on your behalf in the Hackathon are aware of and comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Use of the names of ISA, SNC, SNPI and AG

You may not use the names “Israel Securities Authority”, “Start-Up Nation Central”, “Start-Up Nation Policy Institute” or “The Office of the Accountant General at the Ministry of Finance” or an equivalent name, abbreviation or the logo for any other than internal purposes in any advertising, publicity releases, presentations, or publicly distributed documents, without prior consent. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Hackathon Participants may publish the fact of their participation in the Hackathon, provided that it is never suggested that the Solutions are endorsed or recommended by the ISA, SNC, SNPI or AG.

Neither the ISA, SNC, SNPI or AG warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or fitness for purpose of any information or material on this website. Under no circumstances shall they be liable for any loss, damage, liability or expense suffered in connection with reliance by any person on any such information or material. Formal technology providers were selected to participate in the Hackathon in a public and equal process. they are not to be seen as recommended suppliers by the organizers.

Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Israel, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contract, or the breach, termination or invalidity thereof, shall be settled by arbitration in Israel in accordance with the. The arbitration shall be administered by. The number of arbitrators shall be one (1). The language to be used in the arbitral proceedings shall be Hebrew. Neither the submission of a dispute to arbitration nor any other provision of these Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver, express or implied, of the ISA, SNC, SNPI or AG’s privileges, immunities and exemptions in Israel or any other relevant jurisdiction, which are specifically reserved.
